Arsenal winger Christos Tzolis started the season in outstanding fashion and immediately showed that he is a direct goal threat rather than simply a winger who helps build attacks.
He played 76 minutes in Arsenal’s opening win over Coventry and could easily have produced an even bigger fantasy return with a little more luck.
Tzolis registered four shots, created three chances and finished with one assist. Both the numbers and the eye test suggested there could have been more.
He is already making a strong case as one of the best options in his price range. Managers who started without him may need to reassess quickly.
The season is still long, but a cheap price combined with this level of attacking involvement gives Tzolis a real chance to become one of the fantasy stories of the year.
