One of the longest and most complicated transfer stories of the window is finally over: Bradley Barcola is a Liverpool player.
Negotiations between Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain lasted for a long time, but the Reds refused to meet the huge opening demands from the French club.
PSG reportedly began by asking for €170 million, far beyond Liverpool’s preferred valuation. Over time, the English club managed to bring the price down significantly.
The final agreement is described as £100 million guaranteed plus £20 million in add-ons, putting the maximum package at roughly €135–140 million.
That closes the Barcola file after a negotiation in which patience became Liverpool’s biggest weapon.
The Reds do not have much time to celebrate, however. The final hours of the transfer window are approaching and the squad still needs reinforcement, particularly at defensive midfield and right wing.
Barcola is done — but Liverpool’s transfer window may not be finished.
